About me
I’m Jiayi Chen(陈佳宜),born in 2007, currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Artificial Intelligence at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (from 2025 to 2029). With a continuous aspiration to become a scientific researcher, my ideal is to achieve groundbreaking breakthroughs in the field of Artificial Intelligence, thus creating something that can really change people’s life.

Why a blogger
The first time I was introduced to personal blog was when Nuoyan Chen (https://cny123222.github.io/) showed me Xiyuan Yang’s blog (https://xiyuanyang-code.github.io/) (both my seniors who offer me great help in SJTU). It doesn’t take long for me to understand how beneficial creating your own personal blog is. You can practise your expression skills, your English proficiency, and more importantly, by transforming what you have learned into “outputs” is an excellent way to better assimilate knowledge.
But creating my own blog wasn’t on my agenda until recently I faced a dilemma.
These days I have spent plenty of time reflecting on my life. After more than a month in SJTU, I found my school life totally different from what I had expected. Every day is fulfilling, yet packed up with mathematical analysis and linear algebra (sometimes with cpp as well). I understand these subjects are foundamental to further study in my major, but realizing the fact that I still know little about artificial intelligence is truly disturbing. The only chance for me to explore my major in the curriculum is the introductory course once a week, which offers a valuable horizon of the whole industry. However, this is far from enough. And I have to make it clear that it doesn’t mean that I do not have great materials for self-learning. To be honest, my Edge’s bookmarks are full of great courses and e-books recommended by my seniors and professors. It’s just that under the routined life filled with mathematics courses and homework, I don’t know when to start, how to start, and where to start.
But what I do know is that I need to start now, or I will never start.
So why not start by creating my own blog?
I choose to start by creating my own blog, for I can take down my reflections on learning. I hope that this blog can serve as a “pusher”, which can push me to keep learning. There’s a lot I need to learn, machine learning and deep learning, python and pytorch and so on. It takes time, then I will do it step by step.
About my blog
To practise my Academic English writing skills, most blogs will be presented in English. (Forgive me for any inconvenience caused by misunderstandings that my poor English ability may cause. QAQ) If I fail to do so, the language will be switched back to Chinese.
As for the content, as a beginner in this field, I will start small and simple. So if you are an expert in artificial intelligence or computer science, you propably will find these posts more childish than you can ever imagine. I apologize for that as well. And I do hope that the blog can showcase my personal growth.
There is no fixed time for updates. I will mark at the end of the post to show if it is finished so that you won’t waste your time reading a work-in-progress.
It’s my great privilege to get involved in a field full of opportunities yet challenging. I know the importance of continuous learning, and I will try my best to ride the wave of times.
